Vespucci Initiative’s 2012
Some staff members of the Geotec Research Group successfully attended to the Vespucci Initiative’s 2012 Summer Institute that was held in Fiesole (Florence), Italy. This year, for the first week, the topic was Interoperability 360. During the week they explored different points of view of the interoperability such as legal, semantic and multidisciplinary interoperability. Furthermore, they discussed about different aspects to consider around the interoperability context like privacy in the Internet Era, open data, walled gardens, APIs and Environmental Data Infrastructures. Finally, they worked in multidisciplinary and multicultural groups to envision how new generation Spatial Data Infrastructures should be in the near future. The participants want to thank all the facilitators for the opportunity of enjoying this fabulous experience.
