“The first and third semesters of the Master of Science Program in Geospatial Technologies I studied at Universitat Jaume I. During that time I had an opportunity to gain enormous experience working closely with the specialists from the GeoTec Team. Always positive and willing to help and share their professional experience – this is the least I could say about the environment within the GeoTec Team. My thesis project, supervised by the GeoTec team leader Dr. Laura Diaz, was the culmination of the program where I achieved my goals implementing a challenging project.

Currently, I am writing a proposal together with specialists from the GeoTec Team for the development of Spatial Data Infrastructure for the Republic of Kazakhstan. My future goal is to promote a GIS approach in decision making for such governmental bodies as the Ministry for Environmental Protection, the Committee for Water Resources, the Oil and Gas Ministry etc. I also work freelance developing Web applications offering GIS functionality.” Rustam (student)
