Based on ESRI technologies, the Smart Campus UJI is a map-based web service where a view of interior and/or exterior assets of the University Campus and a set of applications enable employees, students and visitors to locate an area of interest, review information stored in the University database and access to Campus services.

One of these applications is UJI Place Finder, which allows users to locate people and places on campus. This application is typically used by employees or university students to locate an office or conference room in a building, but can also be used by visitors to locate an individual employee they are visiting. UJI Place Finder is an easy way to find a building space or employee by name. You can enter the space name or simply use the map and floor navigator to find an area of interest. Clicking on a space, the information related to its occupants is shown. When you enter a space name or an employee name, the application presents a list of names that are similar and allow you to select the appropriate one from the list. Once done, the map centers on the space selected or the space occupied by the person selected and shows its information.

This is only one of the applications designed to improve the University resources management, and will be completed with an indoor and outdoor navigation system. Other applications are on their first steps, like the monitoring of energy consumptions, the solid wastes management, the connectivity with the city through the biciCAS network, or the infrastructures and services request.
Aso the University community is enabled to participate through small apps enabling crowdsourcing contributions to share the state of the vegetation, an event or an incident. The UJI Master in Geospatial Technologies students are contributing creating content and applications pilots.
