First edition of Castellón AppChallenge
A total of 20 participants from different countries and disciplines met in Castellón last weekend (October 30 – 31) for participating the First edition of Castellón AppChallenge, a marathon for the development and design of web or mobile applications focused on citizen participation.
The agenda started with an Introduction for creating a Geoportal. Afterwards, a brainstorming session for generating ideas gave rise to the hackaton itself. After14 hours of intense work (and some leisure time) a total number of 6 GeoApps were developed. GeoApss covered diverse topics such as pharmacies, criminality, cultural agenda, transport mobility, supply food sector and traffic signals.

The organizers have highlighted the satisfactory participation in the event and their results, indicating the willingness to support some of the applications developed to take them into production. GEOTEC would specially like to thank GeoDevelopers, Castellón city council and ESRI Spain for their participation, as well as Espaitec for hosting us.
