GEOTec participated and presented at Mobile Tartu 2016, a scientific conference centred around mobility organised by the geography department of the University of Tartu (Estonia). With renowned keynote speakers such as Gennady Andrienko (visual analytics), Bob McKercher (distance in tourist behaviour) and Menno-Jan Kraal (mapping human mobility), and over 40 presentations on a variety of topics related to mobile devices and mobility in general, the conference was an ideal forum to meet and talk with researchers in the field. GEOTec presented the ERMES Smart App, a mobile crowd- and expert-sourcing tool to support collecting and storing agricultural managerial information and in-field observations. Next to the presentation, we gave some demo’s of the tool in combination with the ERMES geoportal, which allows to visualise the in-situ collected data.
