This week GEOTEC staff will attend 7th International Conference on Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation
IPIN 2016 (web) will be hosted by Electronic Engineering Applied to Intelligent Spaces and Transport Group (GEINTRA), and it will take place in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid (October 4th-7th).
The program will offer parallel paper presentation sessions, keynote sessions, poster sessions and, even, an on-site competition to share ideas, explore on-going research, future developments, including state-of-the-art systems, and to network with the professionals from academia, industry, and government who are interested in promoting Indoor Positioning and Indoor Navigation internationally.
Our staff is present in two works:
– Torres-Sospedra, J.; Mendoza-Silva, G. M.; Montoliu, R.; Belmonte, O.; Benitez, F.; & Huerta, J. Ensembles of Indoor Positioning Systems Based on Fingerprinting: Simplifying Parameter Selection and Obtaining Robust Systems.
– Montoliu, R., Torres-Sospedra, J.; & Belmonte, O. Magnetic Field based Indoor Positioning Using the Bag of Words Paradigm.
We will also take part in a hands-on tutorial “Fingerprinting-based Indoor Positioning” which will be conducted by Dr. Montoliu (Jaume I University), together with Dr. Torres-Sospedra (GEOTEC, Jaume I University), Dr. Pérez-Navarro (Universitat Oberta Catalunya) and Dr. Conesa (Universitat Oberta Catalunya).
Finally, we are also involved in the IPIN competition. The third track, “Smartphone based (Off-Site)” is being chaired by Dr. JoaquÃn Torres-Sospedra (GEOTEC, Jaume I University), Dr. Fernándo Seco (CAR-CSIC), Dr. Raúl Montoliu (Jaume I University) and Dr. Antonio R. Jiménez (CAR-CSIC). This competition is part of the IPIN Conference and it has been promoted by EvAAL (Contact person: Francesco Potortì, CNR, Italy).
