Last Tuesday and Wednesday (16/17 January 2018), GEOTEC members attended the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ EO4GEO project. EO4GEO brings together 26 European partners, of which GEOTEC is the only Spanish partner, to chart the field of Earth Observation, particularly with respect to the geographical information field, and formally bridge the gap between (industry) demand and (educational) supply. GEOTEC is one of main contributors to the project, with responsibilities in setting up and creating a body of knowledge (BOK) of the field, represented in the form of an ontology, and developing tools exploiting this explicitly formalised knowledge. As such, GEOTEC is expected to further develop the curriculum design tool, originally conceived by GEOTEC in the GIN2K Erasmus+ project, and a job profile tool, based on the BOK.
