Testing the #videogame #EscapeThePlace at @espaitec and #ebrickhouse
Since 2015 @GeotecUJI organises what we call #Geobreakfast : meetings in which the team is gathered and we discuss/present/introduce the projects in which we are in. Some kind of Knowledge Management, more and more necessary when you have a growing team of people with different backgrounds, roles and countries of origin.
Yesterday it was Geobreakfast 30th!!! edition, and after a week of success, starting on Monday with the Banco Santader IX Prize of Scientific Dissemination, we decided to do something different.
The meeting started as usual informing about the last calls and state of project proposals submitted, updating about on-going projects, and having Mehdi saying bye to the team (we will miss you Mehdi! ). But it was the last part of the meeting nobody was aware of…
The attendees were surprised with a game that has been developed by Águeda, Alberto and Nacho. This video game, called “Escape The Place”, is a mixed-reality escape room thought to be played in indoor environments. “Escape The Place” simulates the (hypotethical) situtation of a player being trapped in a building. The player has to escape by means of solving puzzles and exploring the building. Real world exploration becomes mandatory, because some building areas have their virtual equivalent representation inside the game, where the action takes place at Espaitec II. The game ended with the players being put in safe in the #ebrickhouse.
We would like to thank La Escola Superior de Tecnología y Ciencias Experimentales for their support and willingness to let us test our videogame in the #ebrickhouse, an example of how dwellings could be sustainable and eco, comfortable and with all the modern facilities as well.
