@geotecUJI contribution to @eo4geotalks 3rd progress meeting
Last week of June @geotecUJI attended the third EO4GEO project meeting hosted by KULeuven in Leuven (Belgium). In this occassion it was organised back to back with OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium), in which UJI is also part.
In the first part of the week EO summit took place. EO4GEO partners had the chance to exchange ideas, attend interesting talks, participate in breaking out sessions and discuss with different stakeholders, OGC members and friends. We found particularly important some pieces of advice provided by counterparts and experts.
Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday morning was just for presenting the advancements done in the first 6 months of 2019 (2 year of the project), in which UJI is particularly involved.
Sven Casteleyn presented the envisioned ecosystem of Body of Knowledge (BoK) related tools foreseen in the EO4GEO project. It consists of a set of tools to manage and work with the BoK, another set to define educational curricula and learning paths (supply), and finally a set of tools more oriented to the job market (demand), i.e., to define occupational profile and job offers, curriculum vitae, and to perform matching of all the former based on the BoK. Next, he performed a live demo of the first prototypes of the new tools: the occupational profile tool and the job offer tool.
EstefanÃa Aguilar gave an overview of the advancements done in the revision of the BoK, with UJI coordinating WG2 – Visualization adn Geographic Information Systems, and also presented, in conjuntion with KULeuven and ITC, the methodology followed for this 1st round revision.
The last part of 2019 is going to be a quite intensive period for UJI, since the development of the tools, foreseen in WP3 – coordinated by UJI – are one of the main outputs to be presented in next project meeting in Warsaw, by the end of 2019.
