Be part of @geospatialwomen speakers database!
Last week Women in Geospatial+, a network of professionals to promote gender-equality in the geospatial industry and academia, launched the first phase of the speakers database  https://speakers.womeningeospatial.org/
As the WiG+ network claims, in 2019 nearly two-thirds of event speakers around the world were male. The WiG+ speakers database implemented by our colleague Aida Monfort fosters to diversify geospatial conferences and events panels that usually follow the same pattern.Â
First phase of the speakers database is the registration, which is now open for all women and people from underrepresented gender backgrounds (women+).
Second phase of the speakers database (end of May) will be launching the full platform, from where conference and event organizers will be invited to search women+ speakers. Woman+ will be searchable by sector they work in, areas and domain of expertise and of course, it will be a geospatial enabled search.
If you identify as a woman+ in the geospatial field, you can register today. Stay tuned for news about WiG+ network.
Be part of the Women in Geospatial+ speakers database! Register, speak up and embrace change!
From INIT we also want to give visibility to women working in our field, that’s why we created Women in INIT (WINIT) to take part in UJI’s initiatives and to be a reference for girls and encourage them to enroll in STEM careers.Â
