Geotec participates with several projects in the MedNight
On Friday 24th of September, GEOTEC participated in the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night, held in conjunction with the European Researchers’ Night. Along with researchers all over Europe, we explained and demonstrated our research to the general public through a workshop, posters and live interactions.
A poster about Erasmus+ EO4GEO project and results was shown in the European Corner, together with other European projects UJI is participating in. The poster shortly summarised the project and featured its main outcomes, along with links where citizens can find more information. The poster was presented by our colleague Aida Monfort and was in Spanish, as the target group were local citizens.

GEOTEC’s A-Wear project was also showcased in a poster presenting the researchers involved and the tasks to be completed during the project. The event was a good opportunity for ESRs to explain their PhDd work and activities in plain, understandable words, so that anyone could figure out what their work was about and, most importantly, the research implications in people’s daily life.

Meanwhile in the workshops area the project SUCRE was presented to all visitors interested. Three projects were loaded into three different SucreCores, one measuring humidity on a pot, second measuring distances and the last one turning on and off a led light depending on the light perceived by the light sensor. Especially kids were very interested in testing the sensors themselves.

Despite the weather conditions it was a very successful event and nearly 500 participants registered to attend the posters and the workshops.
