GEOTEC, through the SUCRE programme, has participated actively in the initiative “Conecta con la Ciencia” promoted by the Universitat Jaume I. The idea of this institutional initiative is to bring science and technology closer to secondary school students in the province of Castellón. Previos visits included Segorbe, Puerto de Sagunto, and Vinaroz in 2022, and Puerto de Sagunto, and Segorbe in 2021.

Although in 2023 we took a kind of sabbatical year, in 2024 we are back with renewed efforts, in part because the ongoing FECYT project related to scientific dissemination with SUCRE.

This year we have visited Puerto de Sagunto (October 10, 2024), Vinaroz (November 7, 2024) and, for the first time, Morella (November 14, 2024). In total, we ran 9 workshops to 166 students aged  15-16 years (4th ESO). As usual, in each session, about 20 students were divided into groups of 4 or 5 to experiment SUCRE4Stem. In particular, we had 29 students from IES Clot de Moro, Sagunto (4 workshops), 58 students from distinct secondary schools in Vinaroz (3 workshops), and 29 students from IES Els Ports, Morella (2 workshops).
