86 students from rural towns connect with @PROGRAMASUCRE – @GEOTECUJI @FECYT_CIENCIA with computational thinking
As part of an STEM agreement between the Generalitat Valenciana and the UJI’s Equality Unit, with the collaboration of the Centre for Rural Development (CDR) Alt Maestrat, GEOTEC members, through the SUCRE programme, have visited primary and secondary schools in three rural towns in the province of Castellón. The aim was to bring scientific vocations closer to students in a practical and dynamic way, offering them the opportunity to experience first-hand technological projects in the context of STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Between October and Novembre 2024, we visited Albocàsser (October 17, 2024), Catí (October 24, 2024) and Els Ibarsos (November 6, 2024). In Albocàsser, we offered tow session in the CES Alt Maestrat to 42 students aged 13-16 years (ESO). In Catí and Els Ibarsos, we addressed primary education students between 8 and 12 years old in the CRA l’Aiguaneu and CRA La Serra respectively.
