SYMPTOMS-JIT: Explained by psychologists to psychologists
On January 29, Iratxe Alonso presented the objectives of the coordinated SYMPTOMS-JIT project and the next steps to her colleagues at UJI. Iratxe is a psychology researcher, a member of the LABPSITEC research group, and is pursuing her PhD within the context of the SYMPTOMS-JIT project.

The improved version of the SyMptOMS-ET app described was recently tested with three patients. Interviews followed using the CQR methodology to validate the new app features, including new items to existing assessments (e.g., asking for post-exposure anxiety and tolerance levels, desire to escape, and use of safety behaviours during exposure), contextual modulators, new data sources (physiological data through smartwatch sensors), visually rich psychoeducational content and timely notifications, and novel ways of collecting self-reported information (e.g., free text questions, voice recording of thoughts).
These preparatory steps are aimed to specify a protocol for a randomised controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and acceptability of the SyMptOMS-ET app to support in vivo exposures in anxiety disorders (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT06788119; Committee of Ethics at UJI: CEISH/51/2024).
