NavApps poster was presented at INTED conference
The ENAbLE team (David Frías, Aida Monfort and Sven Casteleyn) presented a poster in the INTED conference held in Valencia (Spain) on the 6th-7th-8th of March, 2017. The poster name is “NAVAPPS – A MOBILE GAME TO IMPROVE SPATIAL LITERACY FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL CHILDREN”, a paper with the same name was also sent to the conference and published in INTED2017 Proceedings.
This conference organized by the International Academy of Technology, Education and Development (IATED) is an event dedicated to the promotion of international education and university cooperation in the field of Technology and Science. It brings together professionals of the educational sector from all the world, and other professionals from other fields related to the education.
The GEOTEC members presented the mobile app NavApps, an educational game that aims to foster and improve spatial literacy in secondary school students. Indoor positioning and different wayfinding techniques are used to train spatial skills while having fun playing a mobile treasure hunting game. In the three phases of the game, students perform a set of established tasks, each designed to cover and train specific spatial skills. At the same time, gamification techniques are used to engage children in the game, and thereby maximize their learning results.
People from more than 75 countries attended the conference and a lot of people were attracted by the NavApps poster.
