Ionut Sandric, from the Faculty of Geography, University of Bucharest visited us from Nov 30 to Dec 2, 2022 to teach a (practical) introductory course on data collection/acquisition/processing with Drones. 

The seminar was divided into 3 days. On Wednesday (November 30), Ionut introduced the participants, mainly students from the Erasmus Mundus MSc in Geospatial Technologies and GEOTEC members, to the EU regulations for flying UAVs, the basics for flight planning, accompanied by practical activities for preparing flight plans. On Thursday (December 1), the participants had fun collecting images such as orthoimages and 3D scenes on the UJI campus with 2 UAVs. The content of the last session on Friday (Dec 2) focused on the organization of the collected data, the reading of metadata files and their management, along with processing tasks with ArcGIS Pro and Drone2Map.
