Prof. JoaquĆn Huerta is full professor in the Department of Information Systems at UJI. He holds a Degree in Computer Science and a Masterās Degree in Computer Aided Design from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), and a PhD in Computer Science Engineering from UJI. His main activities involve research in smart cities/campuses, Internet technologies, Augmented reality, 3D models, Web 2.0, contextual systems, sensor networks and GIS application development.

Michael Gould received his PhD in GIS at the University of Buffalo, and has been a associate professor of GIS at Universitat Jaume I since 1997. He has directed many R&D projects at the local, national and European levels, as well as 4 PhD theses (others in progress). His research interests include distributed GIS, Smart Cities, and hybrid FOSS/proprietary interoperability. He now works part-time at UJI because since December 2008 he began working at Esri (California), currently as Global Education Manager working mostly in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Sven Casteleyn is an associate professor at the University Jaime I (UJI), CastellĆ³n, Spain. He previously held a five year RamĆ³n y Cajal fellowship (UJI) and a two year European Marie Curie individual fellowship (Universidad PolitĆ©cnica de Valencia), and various post- and pre-doctoral research positions at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, from which he holds a Ph.D. and a Master degree. His research interests lie primarily within the broad field of Web engineering, mobile computing, geographic information science and technology applied to various applications fields, primarily mental health.

Carlos Granell is associate professor at UJI. He previously held a 5-year RamĆ³n y Cajal post-doctoral fellowship, worked for 3 years as a postdoc in the Digital Earth and Reference Data Unit of the European Commissionās Joint Research Centre (Italy), and was a post- and pre-doctoral researcher during the period 2003-2010 at the Universitat Jaume I of CastellĆ³n, from which he holds a Ph.D. (2006). His research interests lie in multi-disciplinary GIS, spatial analysis & visualization applied to mental health and mobility, and reproducibility research practice in GIScience.

Jose Francisco Ramos is an Associate Professor at the Computer Languages and Systems Department at UJI (Spain). He got his Ph.D. with honours from this University in 2008. Sergio Trilles has a Ph.D. in Integration of Geospatial Information from the Jaume I University in 2015 and he is currently a postdoctoral fellow at University Jaime I, holding a Juan de la CiervaāIncorporaciĆ³n fellowship. His research lines are centred on geospatial fields such as the Internet of Things (sensors), interoperability, geoprocessing or web mapping. He is the author of more than 50 journal and conference peerāreviewed publications.

JoaquĆn Torres-Sospedra is a researcher at the Institute of New Imaging Technologies, UJI. He holds a Bachelorās Degree in Computer Science (September 2003) and a PhD with distinction (September 2011), both from Universitat Jaume I. His main research interests are in the areas of Indoor Location & Positioning, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Multiple Classifier Systems, Sensor Fusion, Knowledge-based Systems and Interoperability.

Juan Camilo received his bachelorās degree as a Cadastral and Geodetic engineer (2010) in Universidad Distrital de BogotĆ”, Colombia. He got an specilization in environmental management (2012) in Universidad Militar de Colombia, and received his masterās degree in IT and innovation management (2019) in Universidad de la Salle Barcelona. Juan Camilo has more than eight years of experience working with GIS (Geographic Information System). Currently, he is supporting and managing the UJI ArcGIS Software Campus license and he has a Scholarhsip into Erasmus Mundus University Master’s Degree in Geospatial Technologies.

Miguel Matey Sanz has a bachelorās degree and a Master in Computer Science from Universitat Jaume I. Currently, he is holding a FPU grant (Spanish Ministry of education) for pursuing his doctoral studies, and he is involved in SyMptOMS project. He joined the GEOTEC group in 2015 via the Study and Research program to introduce students on a research carrer while they are studying their bachelor’s degree. Miguel is interested in developing mobile and web applications and indoor localization.

Nazar Pysko finished his bachelor degree in Computer Science at Universitat Jaume I in 2022 after doing two internships in computer engineering and full stack development. Via the European INVESTIGO program, just after graduating, he joined GeoTec working in the SyMptOMS project as a BackEnd Engineer. Currently, he is learning new things everyday improving his skills in computer science.

Enrique Cueto Rubio studied the degree of Computer Engineering (2018-2022) at the Universitat Jaume I, he was a scholarship holder in the GEOTEC group while he was in his third and fourth years working on the “Sucre” project and in 2022 he rejoined the group to work with GIS technologies.

Leonardo David Silva Fialho Soares Monteiro has a bachelorās degree in Computational Mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. In 2020 he was granted the UJI scholarship for getting started in research: COVID-19 and mobility in tourist territories. Currently he joined the GEOTEC group as a researcher of the Programa Investigo in Data Science in multidisciplinary research.

AdriĆ”n Bautista Gil is a graduate in Video Games Design and Development from the Universitat Jaume I (UJI). In addition, he has a master’s degree in 3D Modeling for Video Games awarded by FxAnimation.
He has worked at UBIK Geospatial Solutions and Jorda Pioneers. At UBIK, he played the role of generalist artist in the development of a video game, using tools such as Unity, C#. At Jordan Pioneers, he worked as an environment artist for the production of Sesame Street, using Unreal as a development engine. In both experiences, he used modeling and texturing tools such as Blender and Substance.
His main area of āāinterest is modeling 3D environments for video games. Currently, he is involved in research and development projects in the GEOTEC group, under the IVESTIGO program, occupying a position of 3D Designer for GIS

Lucas NiƱo Ruiz holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering (2017-2021) from Universitat Jaume I. He has experience working as a front-end engineer at a consulting firm and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Big Data and Data Science at Valencia International University, his main field of interest. He joined Geotec in 2024 to work on geospatial technology projects.

Marc Pardo FernƔndez is a Computer Science graduate specialized in Software Engineering from Universitat Jaume I. He is also a self-taught music producer with a passion for artificial intelligence, back-end development, and video game development. With experience at CryptoSpace as a Back-end Developer and at both UBIK Geospatial Solutions and NTT DATA as a Full-stack Developer, Marc has expertise in front-end, back-end development and database design. He holds a micro-credential in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Business from Universitat Jaume I and is currently engaged in innovative research and development projects at GEOTEC.
