Funding institution: University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (United States)
Total budget: 51.900 € / Budget UJI: 26.400 €
Duration: March 2023-September 2023
In the EO4GEO project, GEOTEC developed 1/ EO4GEO BoK Platform to store, serve and make the EO*GI Body of Knowledge (BoK) publicly accessible, and 2/ the EO4GEO ecosystem of tools, which exploit the Body of Knowledge and provide specific functionalities for the professionals and educational GI sector. The project also adopted the Living TextBook, developed by the University of Twente (ITC), which was used to edit and evolve the Body of Knowledge, before it is finally exported to the BoK platform for storage, visualization and further exploitation.
In the UCGIS BoK project, GEOTEC is working together with the University of Twente (ITC) to transplant the EO4GEO BoK evolution workflow and tools to the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS in the United States. This includes helping UCGIS to extract their BoK content from their current setup, customising and deploying the EO4GEO platform and all tools for UCGIS, and populating the UCGIS setup with the UCGIS content.
GEOTEC’s responsibility in this project is the updating and deployment of the EO4GEO BoK platform and tools, and the connection between the Living TextBook and the BoK platform. The University of Twente is responsible for assisting UCGIS with content extraction from the current storage, and updating and deploying the Living TextBook and importing UCGIS content.
