2nd #EO4GEO workshop and project meeting held in #Patras @EO4GEOTalks
Last week @geotecUJI attended the 2nd EO4GEO wokshop and project meeting which took place in Patras (Greece). During the workshop some experiences with related projects were presented, and we have the pleasure to get an overview of such interesting (and connected projects) such as: SEnDIng project for designing VET programes about Data Science and IoT; MATES: Maritime Alliance for fostering the European Blue economy through a Marine Technology Skilling Strategy; GEO-CRADLE for GEO and Copernicus capacity building in North Africa; or CopHub.AC: Copernicus Academy Hub for Knowledge, Innovation and Outreach. We also have the chance to attend the presentations from European Commision participants, DG Grow (Emanuele Barreca) and CEDEFOP (Stelina Chatzichristou). In the afternoon, as did in Castellón workshop, breakout sessions were organised to assess the skills shortages, gaps, mismatches between supply and (future) demand.
During the project meeting last advancements in on-going workpackages were presented, and UJI particularly contributed to WP2: Developing and operational Body of Knowledge for GI and EO, presenting some tools we have developed that will help in the updating and extension of the current GI S&T BoK. UJI also played an important role in the definition of the proposed tools in the context of WP3: Developing an integrated platform of collaborative tools. In a first phase requirements for the tools the project foresees to produce were collected by a survey, these requirements were classified and categorised for a better design of the tools. During the meeting Sven Casteleyn presented a first prototype of the foreseen tools: Curriculum tool and Job profile tool, which will contain the majority of the requirements collected by the survey.
During the meeting the rest of the partners presented the rest of Workpackages and fruitful discussions took place.
2019 is expected to be a year full of novelties for EO4GEO!! So, stay tuned and subscribe EO4GEO newsletter!
