Ante este escenario, nace el proyecto Europeo ERMES (An Earth Observation Model based Rice Information Service, http://www.ERMES-fp7space.eu/), dentro del programa FP7, el cual tiene como objetivo principal proporcionar un conjunto de herramientas y servicios que ayuden a cooperativas y agricultores en las tareas de seguimiento del cultivo de arroz y acumular paulatinamente evidencias basadas en datos cientÃficos, geográficos, de la observación de la tierra, e incluso datos proporcionados por los propios agricultores (usuarios) para facilitar la toma de decisiones. Esta tarea implica necesariamente la utilización e integración de diversas fuentes de datos asà como también de múltiples técnicas de observación de la tierra, modelos de cultivos y herramientas TIC para el desarrollo Web y en entornos móvil. EL proyecto ERMES se dirige a dos tipos de usuarios bien diferenciados que realizarán usos distintos de los resultados del proyecto: un uso local dirigido a los agricultores (productores) y un uso regional dirigido a las autoridades encargadas de la supervisión y gestión del cultivo del arroz en una región determinada (por ejemplo cooperativas). El ámbito de aplicación del proyecto corresponde a los principales productores de arroz a nivel Europeo— Italia, España y Grecia (en ese orden), de donde son los principales socios del proyecto. A parte de la diversidad de datos y técnicas a emplear, el proyecto se enfrenta a las necesidades particulares de escala/resolución (necesidades del usuario local frente al usuario regional) y de escalado de la solución (misma aplicación para tres casos de uso distintos en tres paÃses). Todos estos requisitos hacen de ERMES un proyecto especialmente atractivo para validar las capacidades de las Infraestructuras de Datos Espaciales. Durante el inicio del proyecto se han definido tareas de consulta de requisitos con los usuarios del proyecto (tanto regionales como locales), que den pie a la captura y definición pormenorizada de los requisitos funcionales de la solución final del proyecto, los cuales servirán para el diseño de los servicios finales para el seguimiento de cultivos del arroz. Dichos servicios seguirán los fundamentos INSPIRE y se estructurarán en base a los servicios básicos y estándares claves de una IDE.},

La información geoespacial necesaria para la gestión de los incendios forestales es muy amplia y diversa. Cada profesional que interviene en un incendio forestal actúa en diferentes fases (prevención, extinción), contexto (centro control, primera lÃnea de fuego, vigilancia). Cada profesional tiene diferentes grados de dependencia tecnológica, por lo que la información geoespacial necesaria para cada perfil es distinta y valorada por su utilidad. El estudio cuantitativo presentado en este artÃculo, basado en las técnicas de encuestas. La finalidad del estudio es la evaluación del estado actual en el uso y conocimiento de las tecnologÃas geoespaciales durante la prevención y extinción de incendios forestales. En este artÃculo se describe la metodologÃa seguida para la confección de la encuesta, la definición de los criterios de evaluación y el análisis de los resultados obtenidos. Se contribuye asà a su capa topográfica y se dispone de una base cartográfica completa y precisa en información y acorde con el entorno en su representación. La información asociada a cada espacio se integra en el LGIM (Local Government Information Model), lo que nos permite aprovechar las definiciones y relaciones entre los diferentes elementos que componen recintos como campus universitarios, parques de atracciones, polÃgonos industriales o ciudades. De entre las aplicaciones previstas, actualmente está implementado un cliente de visualización, un servicio de localización basado en un nomenclátor y un servicio de peticiones, basados en plantillas de ESRI. abstract = {Today, scientists use local and closed geospatial solutions to run their models and store their results. This may limit their ability to share their models, and results with other interested colleagues. This scenario is changing with the advent of new factors such as the rapid growth and rise of open source projects, or new paradigms promoted by government organizations to manage environmental data, such as Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE) directive, or the massive use of Web 2.0 techniques where users are looking for applications with a high degree of collaboration, interactiveness, and multimedia effects. Many authors address the versatility of Spatial Data Infrastructures where resources are shared and accessed via standard service according to complex specifications. In this context, the authors point out the need to merge the traditional building and maintenance of these infrastructures, driven by official providers, with these more participative methodologies where users can participate in creating and integrating information. It seems necessary to develop new geospatial tools which integrate these new trends. This paper proposes a unified solution offering to the scientific field an open development framework, based on standards and philosophies focused on new technologies and scientific needs.},
