GEOTEC staff has collaborated in the edition of two special issues which, say, deal quite different themes. Carlos and Sven together with Clement Atzberger from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Austria, have edited a Research Topic on recent geospatial technologies and development for agriculture published in the Environmental Informatics section within the Frontiers in Environmental Science. The call attracted a few but really good articles, I promise. An introduction to the special issue and the contained papers are summarised in a short editorial article.

The second special is somehow special because it is part of the celebrations of the 40^th of Novática, the first Spanish journal on Informatics. This time, Carlos and Carlos Moreno, an expert on smart city and user-driven innovation, have jointly edited a special issue on Open Innovation (cover page below). A detailed introduction to the topic and the contained articles come again in a presentation article.
